Outstanding Visual Style: Dying Light 2 Stay Human
Some of the focal points of Dying Light 2 Stay Human are the day and night cycle, along with the duality of its world. The day belongs to humans, and the night belongs to the Infected. There’s also a certain, more vertical, division present in different areas of the City.
The streets are roamed by the Infected. Because of that – humans don’t build any shelters on the street level. They instead create various structures on the rooftops. That’s why it was vital for us to come up with different ways of guiding players through this high-rise maze. The entire City is filled with very distinguishable details that instantly let you know where you are in relation to objects like monuments, characteristic buildings, churches, etc. We also aimed to convey this feeling of danger using a different color grading. On the street level, the colors suddenly change. It’s not as bright and not as colorful.
